Nick Blaemire’s ‘Soon’ Musical Sets Off-Broadway Run

Nick Blaemire’s new musical “Soon” will receive an Off-Broadway production this fall with a limited engagement at The Loft at St. Luke’s Theatre. 

The indie-pop chamber musical is scheduled to begin performances on September 30 for a six-week run. The upcoming production will be directed by Will Blum, whose credits include “Beetlejuice” and “The School of Rock—The Musical.” 

“Soon” was previously presented at the East Village Basement last year and will now return in an expanded production as part of Out of the Box Theatrics’ Loft Series and Custom Work Program. The initiative features limited production elements designed for intimate and immersive theatrical experiences.

Written by Blaemire, whose previous credits include “Glory Days,” “Safety Not Guaranteed,” and “Space Dogs,” “Soon” explores questions about time, connection, and how people choose to live when faced with uncertainty.

The creative team for the Off-Broadway production will include music supervisor Wiley DeWeese and music director Andy Collopy. Out of the Box Theatrics will produce the production in association with Bella Vita Entertainment, Dru Margolis, and Red Horse LLC.

“Soon” will begin its ticket pre-sale on August 3 at 10 a.m. ET, with general public sales opening August 5. Theatergoers can sign up for early access through Out of the Box Theatrics’ website ahead of the ticket launch.
