Garth Brooks Reveals Pair of Shows in Washington, D.C. on 'Blame It All On My Roots' Tour

Garth Brooks has revealed the next pair of shows on his “Blame It All On My Roots” tour: Washington, D.C.

The shows will take place on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at Capital One Arena. Tickets for the new dates head on sale Friday, August 21 at 10 a.m. ET here.

The Washington, D.C. shows follow news that Brooks will take over Rosemont, Illinois’ Allstate Arena on Thursday, September 10 for an opening show, followed by evening performances on September 11 and 12. The brief run will wrap-up with a matinee show on Sunday, September 13.

Earlier this year, Brooks revealed the “Blame It All On My Roots” tour, which aims to bring his legendary arena shows to fans in a more intimate setting. The first pair of shows on the tour were announced for Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse on August 21 and 22. Additional shows were added in Indianapolis, slated for August 20 and 23, followed by two gigs at Denver’s Ball Arena on September 4 and 5.

For the upcoming shows, Brooks will bring back his Drum Pod stage, an in-the-round setup that was a major part of his arena performances during the 1990s. The stage design placed Brooks in the center of the venue, allowing fans on all sides of the arena to have a close view of the concert.

The Drum Pod stage was featured on Double Live, which remains the best-selling live album in music history. Brooks will also record performances from the new tour for an upcoming live release titled “Killer Live.”

“Going back into the arenas is about putting the stadium show in a box,” Brooks said in a statement. “Every seat is a great seat. This is personal.”
